TWANG TOWN LOWDOWN - FRIDAY, MAY 13TH

It was a couple weeks ago when MADDIE & TAE said their song "Sierra" was inspired by a high school 'friend' who badmouthed MADDIE MARLOW behind her back.

Well, TAE DYE got the feeling there needed to be some closure, so she told Maddie to reach out to the girl . . . so she did. She sent a text to the real Sierra telling her about the song, and hoping there'd be no hard feelings.

And the girl responded almost immediately, and said it's all good . . . she's glad they both moved on, and congratulated Maddie on her success.

That actually DID lead to closure for Maddie. She says, quote, "I think it's awesome that even though she was someone that really made me feel like crap about myself, we have been able to mend that relationship.

"I hope that story helps people understand that once you demand respect from someone, most of the time it happens. It's exciting to have the situation come out so positive."

If this guy just showered like a semi-normal person, we wouldn't be talking about him. But his filthiness is our gain.

A 37-year-old guy in Orange City, Florida named Michael Blevins was cleaning his gun on Thursday . . . when he accidentally SHOT HIMSELF.

He took one in the arm, but somehow he didn't realize it . . he thinks maybe it's because he was on painkillers from a back injury.

And Michael still didn't notice the bullet hole in his arm until THREE DAYS later . . . when he finally took off his shirt. Yeah, apparently this guy hadn't changed or showered for THAT long.

So he went to the hospital . . . where they told him the wound was healing nicely and he was fine. But the hospital called the cops, which they always do when someone shows up with a bullet wound and Michael had to explain to them what happened.

But he's not facing any charges.

HAYDEN PANETTIERE: SEEKING TREATMENT AGAIN:


Hayden Panettiere is seeking treatment for postpartum depression for the second time in less than a year.

Thursday the Nashville star tweeted, “The postpartum depression I have been experiencing has impacted every aspect of my life. Rather than stay stuck due to unhealthy coping mechanisms I have chosen to take time to reflect holistically on my health and life. Wish me luck!”

Sources have told us that she checked into rehab in Utah.

Hayden has been suffering from the disorder ever since giving birth to her daughter, Kaya, in December 2014.

The actress, who was first treated for postpartum depression in October, is engaged to former boxing champ Wladimir Klitschko.

ABC CANCELS NASHVILLE:

 

After 4 seasons ABC has decided to cancel their music city based drama "Nashville". The fans of the series are not the only folks who will feel the sting of the cancellation. The city of Nashville had been reaping the benefits of increased tourism dollars to the town since the start of the show. Nashville mayor Megan Barry said in a written statement. "The show has been an enormously successful promotional tool for our city, which is why the state of Tennessee and Metro Nashville were prepared to support production of a fifth season to be filmed here. This is a loss for ABC and for the millions of fans across the world who have grown to love this show. We have enjoyed hosting the cast and crew of the show over the last four years and look forward to future opportunities for film and television production here in Nashville."

Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake who both lend their voice talents to the upcoming animated flick "Trolls" showed up to the Cannes Film Festival to promote the film and while they were there the performed their version of the Cyndi Lauper hit "True Colors". I'm not certain but I would guess that the song will appear on the Soundtrack for the film. But you shouldn't have to wait to hear it.. Check this out.. It's pretty awesome...

PARIS HILTON: MAKING FILM.. ABOUT HERSELF.



Paris Hilton is reportedly working on a documentary about her life.

The untitled film is set to begin shooting this summer in Ibiza and will feature interviews with the 35-year-old socialite who will discuss her rise to fame and her life in the spotlight. Hilton is producing the film with documentary directors Don Argott and Sheena Joyce. Argott says, "Paris Hilton is a modern day Marilyn Monroe -- beautiful, iconized, world famous, shaped by mass media and misunderstood. We are thrilled to work with Paris to explore her complicated relationship with the public, the press and the politics that shape our perception of a modern celebrity." The title and release date have yet to be announced.

Jennifer Nettles will once again play Avie Lee Parton in the next Dolly Parton-inspired TV movie on NBC

Dolly Parton's Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love is the next chapter in the portrayal of young Dolly's life. Many of those who starred in Coat of Many Colors will also appear in the new installment, including Ricky Schroder and Alyvia Alyn Lind, who plays young Dolly.

No word yet on when the movie will air.

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani make their award show debut of "Go Ahead and Break My Heart" at the upcoming Billboard Music Awards.

They join a list of performers that includes Ariana Grande, Celine Dion, Justin Bieber, Britney Spears and Madonna, who will pay tribute to Prince.

The Billboard Music Awards will air live from Las Vegas on May 22nd at 7 p.m. [CST] on ABC.

THE FISH THAT ALMOST WAS...



A fisherman recently caught the largest yellowfin tuna ever reeled in, but a stupid mistake kept him from having his catch officially recognized.

Robert Ross was fishing in Mexico when he reeled in the 430-pound fish, outweighing the previous record by three pounds. Ross called a local fishing charter business to report the big catch and have it officially recognized as a world record. The only problem is, before he called them, he filleted the giant fish.

A fish cannot be considered a world record unless it is weighed intact on an official scale certified by the International Game Fish Association. All he had was 430-pounds of fish guts. But he shouldn't feel too down. There are plenty of other 430-pound fish in the sea.

FLY THE BEERY SKIES...

Most people end up in the bathroom after having too many beers, but one Oregon man locked himself in an airplane toilet because he couldn't get enough tall cold ones -- and refused to come out until flight attendants served him.

Luke Watts flipped out on an Alaska Airlines flight out from Sacramento to Seattle when the cabin crew told him he was already too inebriated and refused to bring him a beer. Watts threatened violence against one flight attendant and began screaming at the rest of the crew before barricading himself inside the coach cabin restroom.

Once inside, he continued to demand alcohol, and added one more request -- that the attendants on duty all hug him as a way to make up. He got neither, but did get a nice pair of handcuffs slipped onto his wrists after the plane made an emergency landing in Portland.

PUNCHING A GIFT HORSE IN THE MOUTH--

A Florida woman threw the mother of all hissy fits on Mother's Day -- by beating the heck out of her husband for buying her the "wrong" kind of candy and flowers.

Virginia Stewart went ballistic after her hapless hubby came bearing gifts that she wanted no part of. According to the police report, she started by giving the guy, whose name was not released, a serious tongue-lashing, then went on to smack him around with her fists and a wire clothes hanger. The 42-year-old woman then trashed the presents and smashed a slew of coffee mugs in the couple's kitchen.

Cops showed up a short time later in response to a hang-up call received by the 911 dispatch center, and took Mrs. Stewart in on charges of domestic battery. She's barred from having any contact with her spouse until after her next court appearance on June 9th.

SHARON OSBOURNE: HIRED P.I. TO FOLLOW OZZY --



Sharon Osbourne reportedly had Ozzy trailed by a private investigator after suspecting he was having an affair.

A source tells us that Sharon “found out that Ozzy was spending a lot of money. She wanted to know what he was buying and who he was buying it for. The investigator discovered that he was basically living a double life.”

The subject of his desires and wallet is reportedly celebrity hairstylist Michelle Pugh. An insider has stated that “Ozzy was supporting her.” He'll need to dig a bit deeper into his pockets, since Michelle has been reportedly fired "as a colorist at the posh Meche Salon in Beverly Hills" following the cheating rumors.

JENNY SLATE: TEAM CAPTAIN AMERICA--

 

Jenny Slate is Team Cap! The actress is dating Chris Evans.

The former SNL cast member and the Captain America: Civil War actor co-star in the upcoming drama Gifted. In a recent interview, Jenny said, "I didn't know what to expect when I met Chris. I was a little scared because I kind of felt like, Well, I don't know him. He's a giant man with huge muscles and he's Captain America. How could we ever connect? [But the] first night that we hung out, I was like, 'Wow, I could hang out with Chris for, like, 90 hours.'"

Jenny recently divorced film editor Dean Fleischer-Camp after three years of marriage.

SAMMY DAVIS JR. - OLD PISTOL TURNS UP AT GUN BUYBACK

An LAPD gun buyback program collected 791 guns last weekend, including one that was registered to Sammy Davis Jr.

The program is aimed at getting guns off the street and allows people to drop them off in exchange for a grocery gift card. A .45 caliber pistol that was dropped off had previously been registered to the late Rat Pack singer and entertainer who passed away in 1990. It's not known who dropped it off because the program is anonymous.

NEW SINGING SHOW COMING TO ABC

 

Arsenio Hall and Kelsea Ballerini will host the new ABC singing show Greatest Hits. According to Variety, "The series will feature iconic music artists and current chart-toppers performing hits from the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. Each episode will focus on a five-year period in time and feature duets, tributes and solo performances." It kicks off June 30th.

BLAKE: OPENING UP ABOUT HONESTY - 




Blake Shelton has no trouble calling it as he sees it -- just read some of his tweets if you need proof.

He says he felt compelled to open up about his divorce from Miranda Lambert through his new album, If I'm Honest. And he says he was inspired by Gwen Stefani's album, This Is What the Truth Feels Like, to lay it all out for the world to see. "I had a similar [thought], 'What if I tell the truth?' So I was like, I can't use the word truth now, so..."

Blake and Gwen debuted their duet, "Go Ahead and Break My Heart," this week on The Voice and during the taping of an iHeartRadio album special that will air on May 18th.

Blake's If I'm Honest comes out on May 20th.

GARTH BROOKS: SET TO PLAY YANKEE STADIUM

Garth Brooks' baseball career may have been short lived, but he's finally going to be able to play in Yankee Stadium.

Garth announced on Twitter this morning (Wednesday) that he and Trisha Yearwood are going to perform at Yankee Stadium on July 9th. It's his first time playing New York since 1997 when he performed in front of nearly one-million people in Central Park. Tickets for the show go on sale May 20th.

DRINKING A BEER WITH THE COOKIE MONSTER:



A Florida woman clearly wanted to get baked while enjoying her baker, so she wandered into a stranger's house to scarf down a plate of cookies -- and chase them with a nice, cold beer.

Tammy Roseman strolled up to a home in Indian River County and saw the owner standing by the front door, chatting with a friend. Without saying a word, she brushed past the men and opened the front door, heading right to the kitchen, where she grabbed a Corona from the fridge, then sat down at the kitchen table to enjoy it.

Roseman spotted the cookies on a counter and helped herself to a bunch of those before running around the house banging on doors and waking up another resident who was sleeping -- as might be expected, since it was after 11 p.m. The homeowner called 911 to summon cops, who showed up and removed the trespasser.

The 44-year-old denied any wrongdoing and insisted that she had been invited in for beer and cookies.

NO GOOD DEED...

A Massachusetts man named Kayvon Mavaddat may not be the most law-abiding citizen, but you can't say he impolite.

The 28-year-old was walking into a shopping mall and kindly held the door open for a police officer who was leaving. But no good deed goes unpunished, and it's his politeness that ultimately landed him in trouble. The cop thought his door-holder looked a little familiar, so he went to his cruiser and did some poking around on the computer. He discovered that Mavaddat had three three warrants out for his arrest -- for heroin possession, shoplifting and driving with a suspended license.

The officer ran back into the mall and arrested him.

HOLY COW! IT'S RAINING...

 

You've heard of it raining cats and dogs, but cows? Now that's udderly ridiculous.

It's not so crazy for residents in a German village who recently found a large cow that had apparently fallen out of the sky. It may sound like a load of bull, but it really happened in southwestern Germany. Residents recalled hearing a loud bang before noticing that a cow had fallen onto a house and caused a lot of damage to the roof.

They found the bovine laying on her back in the garden looking a little disoriented but with only minor injuries. Police believe the cow, which they determined likely escaped from a herd four miles away, fell off a cliff and landed on the house.

SHARON OSBOURNE: NOT SURE SHE'LL DIVORCE OZZY...

 

Sharon Osbourne spoke out about her split from Ozzy Osbourne on The Talk on Tuesday.

The couple reportedly broke up after 33 years of marriage amid allegations he's been unfaithful.

Sharon was absent from her talk show on Monday, but returned yesterday to discuss the situation. She came out with a glass of lemonade, in reference to Beyonce's album about her husband's infidelities, and later confirmed that she has indeed kicked Ozzy out of their home. But, she said, “he’s back, and I’m out of the house.”

Sharon added that she's still thinking over the situation and isn't sure if she'll stay married to Ozzy. “I don’t know. Because I don’t know what I want.”

KALEY CUOCO: DIVORCE FINALIZED

Kaley Cuoco's divorce from Ryan Sweeting has been finalized, and the star managed to hold on to her Big Bang Theory fortune.

Kaley married the tennis pro in 2013, just months before she signed a $72 million contract with the hit show. Fortunately she had an iron-clad pre-nup. Besides her money, Kaley keeps their homes in Tarzana and Santa Barbara. Ryan got $165,000 and Kaley agreed to pay the $195,000 bill for his two personal trainers. Also, according to TMZ, he gets to keep whatever cash and gift certificates are in his possession.

BRIE LARSON: ENGAGED

Brie Larson is having the best year ever.

In February the Room star won an Oscar, last Saturday she hosted Saturday Night Live, and now comes word that she's getting married.

E! News reports that Phantom Planet frontman Alex Greenwald popped the question to the actress during a March trip to Tokyo.

Brie seems to have unveiled her engagement ring on SNL, sporting a diamond ring on her left hand during the broadcast.

JON STEWART: HARSH WORDS FOR TRUMP

Since leaving The Daily Show last year, Jon Stewart has remained tight lipped about Donald Trump, but the comedian has finally broken his silence in an interview with ex-Obama adviser David Axelrod.

Jon joked, "I'm not a Constitutional scholar so I can't necessarily say, but are you eligible to run if you are a man-baby? He has the physical countenance of a man and a baby's temperament and hands."

He also went after Hillary Clinton, even though he says he plans to vote for her. "I imagine her to be a very bright woman without the courage of her convictions — because I'm not even sure what they are. That's not to say that [Hillary] is not preferable to Donald Trump, because at this point I would vote for Mr. T over Donald Trump. I pity the fool, indeed."

Despite the political talk, Jon insists he's not planning a return to television. "I feel more engaged now in the real world than I ever did sitting on television interviewing politicians."

DEA: OPENS INVESTIGATION CONCERNING PRINCE DEATH

TMZ says the DEA has opened an investigation into the doctors who prescribed medicine to Prince.

Agents searched the legend's Paisley Park home Tuesday. TMZ sources say the "feds are conducting the probe under a series of federal laws targeting doctors who sell prescriptions to drug abusers." Authorities are also reportedly eyeing the son of the rehab doctor who recently "flew to Minnesota with a backpack full of synthetic opiates." That man, Andrew Kornfeld, was at Prince's home when he died.

Authorities also obtained a search warrant for North Memorial Medical Center, where Dr. Michael Todd Schulenberg worked. He treated Prince twice in April, including the day before he died.

SELENA GOMEZ: HOOKING UP W/ORLANDO BLOOM

Orlando Bloom kissed a girl and it wasn't Katy Perry.
TMZ says the actor got very "touchy feely"with Selena Gomez in Las Vegas recently. The gossip blog has pics of the two "neck-nuzzling" and "embracing" at an after-party for her concert.

The two have a history. They were rumored to be hooking up two years ago, after Selena broke up with Justin Bieber and Orlando split with Miranda Kerr. Word had it that Miranda and Justin hooked up too.

The problem is Orlando is currently dating Katy. They were seen together just last week at a Met Gala after-party. Hopefully, Katy doesn't read TMZ.
