Brothers Osborne have a rule: no political talk on stage. But they're not shy about voicing their opinions on social media or lampooning politicians in their videos.

John Osborne says, “People act like we don’t already know that it stands to hurt us. 'Watch what you say, people are gonna stop buying your records!’ Yeah, we know that... But we’re still choosing to say something. I hope that some people, even if they hate our music, find us being ourselves refreshing.”
John and T.J. hope they'll three-peat by winning their third Vocal Duo of the Year award in a row at Wednesday's CMA Awards. The will air live from Nashville on ABC.

He says, “Growing up in Florida and feeling what the aftermath of a hurricane is like, there are so many things going through your mind about what needs done and who needs help. There are often a lot of animals that get separated from their families and end up last on the list of priorities, and since animals have always been important to me and my family, I felt like this donation drive was one way our community could help and support another community.”
Michael will be at Nashville Humane on Friday at 2 p.m. [CT] to greet fans and send off the truck that will carry the supplies to Florida.

D.A. OF THE DAY - 11/8

  • WEIRD NEWS: Snack Attack!

A Wyoming man nuked his long-term romance -- by nuking a Hot Pocket and burning his girlfriend by flinging it at her.
Levi Lucero was hanging out with his girlfriend of six years when he asked her to go into the kitchen to make him the quick-fix snack. The victim says that he began saying "mean things" to her after she handed him the super-heated pocket and asked him to give back her cell phone.
Lucero says the woman attacked him first, leading him to defend himself with the microwaved meal, which hit her in the neck and head, leaving what cops called "Hot Pocket shrapnel" everywhere. He was arrested after some questioning at the scene. (KTWO)
  • WEIRD NEWS: Talk About High Octane Fuel!

These days most people fill their tanks with unleaded, but a Canadian woman was busted last month for carrying extra lead -- in the form of two dozen guns she'd hidden inside a specially modified gas tank
The woman, whose name was not released, was stopped for a routine customs inspection on Halloween night, and officials found the handguns, each wrapped in plastic, in the gas tank of a rental Nissan Rogue. The tank had been separated into two separate halves, one carrying gas, the other the weapons.
The handguns were legally purchased in Florida and Georgia for between $300 and $500, and then smuggled across the border, where they could be sold on the black market for between $2000 and $5000. (Toronto Star)
  • WEIRD NEWS: Flying the Foul Skies

A flight in Indonesia had to be delayed when passengers complained about a foul stench wafting through the cabin.
The source of the pungent odor was a two-ton shipment of a fruit called durian. The large, thorn-covered fruit is known for its very strong smell. The smell was so bad that passengers refused to fly on the plane, causing a delay. Airline workers eventually removed some of the packages of fruit from the plane and the flight departed. (The Jakarta Post
  • WEIRD NEWS: Pull the Handle for Crazy

    Crazy Voter Mug Shot.jpg
A Pennsylvania man who went crazy after being told he couldn't vote because he hadn't registered was arrested and provided one of the greatest mug shots of 2018.
Christopher Queen, 48, walked into his polling station and attempted to cast a ballot. But he was informed that he wasn't in the voter log because he had never registered to vote. Queen then snapped and threatened to return with a gun and "shoot up" the place.
He then walked out and but was apprehended a short while later and arrested. Cops booked him on charges of disorderly conduct and making terroristic threats.
And if he wants to use an insanity defense, prosecutors need not look any further than his mug shot. (The Smoking Gun)

They submitted their final papers last week and a judge finally signed off on them yesterday (Wednesday). Under their agreement, the couple will share joint custody of their three kids and attend co-parenting therapy sessions for at least six months. There was no pre-nup, so they'll split everything else down the middle.

MANDY MOORE: Music Therapy

Mandy Moore became a bona-fide TV star thanks to This Is Us, but when she started her career way back in junior high, she was supposed to be the next Britney or Christina.

And then, she tells Bustle, she got real about it. Mandy says, “When I look back on being a pop star, those girls, they were made for it. They're dancers and they're entertainers and they're performers. They give their all -- and costume changes! -- and they can live on that level. And that was never going to be me.”
But after years away from the mic, she's set to give it another shot. "There's a lot of weirdness wrapped up in music for me that I still have to work through. That I don't think I'm good enough. That I don't think I'm deserving. That I clearly have to go to therapy for, but...I'm going to drop the bags, and I'm going for it."

ALEC BALDWIN: Talk Show Gets Bumped

Alec Baldwin is used to throwing punches, but he just took a huge uppercut from ABC.

The network has announced that his poorly rated talk show is being bumped down to a less desirable time slot. The Alec Baldwin Show, which had aired at 10 p.m. on Sundays, is being replaced with repeats of Shark Tank. His show, which features pre-taped interviews, is headed to 10 p.m. on Saturdays.
It's believed that the move is a result of the show's poor ratings, and not a response to Baldwin's arrest last week for allegedly punching a man over a parking spot in New York.
