Twang Town Lowdown - Wednesday May 25th

Steven Tyler Lends Music, Narration To TV Wildlife Show

Steven Tyler, Dave Matthews and Joan Jett may not be talking to the animals, but they'll be talking about them soon on your TV.

The three will join Christina Aguilera, Usher and Ellie Goulding as narrators in a unique six-show series called Hello World! It's slated to air as back-to-back episodes on the Discovery Channel over three consecutive Saturdays, starting on July 9th. Each artist voices one program, which is based around a song of theirs and tied into a specific wildlife-oriented theme, shot in the wild.

The episodes include:

Summer Wild, in which Tyler's recently-released country song "Red, White and You" serves as a backdrop to showing how North American prairie dogs, hawks, and wild mustangs spend their summers.
Save Me, in which Matthews follows rhinos, spadefoot toads, and manatees in their search for fresh water, and
Bad Reputation, in which Jett's song of the same name highlights the stories of many of the creatures we love to hate -- like wolves, alligators, and sharks -- and shows why they might just be getting a bad rap.

The D.A. Of The Day - Wednesday, May 25

Out Of The Frying Pan, Into The Pen...

A Wisconsin man is on the hook for seven years of jail time after he couldn't reel in a judge with a claim that his DUI bust was actually caused by eating too much beer-battered fish.

John Przybyla, who had nine previous drunk driving busts on his record, was pulled over for a broken tail light, then tested after the officer smelled alcohol on his breath. The 76-year-old suspect insisted it was just the fish, but was asked to take a breath test anyway, which he failed.

Przybyla struggled when a nurse sought to draw a blood sample for testing. According to the arrest report, he said “he was going to sue us for taking his blood because it was against his religion."

Smart Name, Dumb Criminal

A 16-year-old Florida kid who was convicted of shooting another teen three years ago was sentenced to more than eight years in prison on Monday, but it's his ironic name that's drawing chuckles.

Imagine how disappointed his parents must be considering they obviously had high hopes when they named him Le'Genius Wisdom Williams. Unfortunately, instead of being named valedictorian and becoming one of the greatest scholars of our time, Le'Genius turned out to be Le'Stupid and chose a life of crime. When he was 13, he shot a 15-year-old boy who luckily survived.

Le'Genius received an eight-year sentence for the shooting and an additional three years for a separate robbery.

Locked Out, Then Locked Up

Charles William Richardson, Pinellas County Jail booking photo

A West Virginia man shot his way back into a Florida hotel room after locking himself out.

Charles Richardson, who was vacationing in St. Petersburg, left his card key inside the room and decided to save himself a trip to the front desk by simply shooting off the lock with the pistol he was carrying. That didn't work, so Richardson fired a second shot through a window in the hallway and went to chill in the lobby.

Cops called to the scene found the 35-year-old sitting, calm and unarmed. His weapon was outside the door where he said it would be. He's facing two counts of shooting in an occupied building.

Bill Cosby: Facing 10 Years In Prison..

Bill Cosby
will finally stand trial on sexual assault charges.

A Pennsylvania judge made the decision on Tuesday in a hearing. Afterwards, his attorney Brian McMonagal released a statement, saying, “Mr. Cosby is not guilty of any crime and not one single fact presented by the Commonwealth rebuts this truth. Though the Court decided the government reached the low threshold required for today’s preliminary hearing, we have no doubt this case ultimately will be resolved in Mr. Cosby’s favor."

The comedian faces three counts of felony indecent assault and 10 years in prison if convicted. He's accused of drugging and assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004.

Though dozens of woman have accused the star of sexual assault, this will be the first time he has gone to trial.

The news comes on the heels of revelations that Cosby once admitted in a deposition to having sex with teenage girls.

Paris Jackson: Honors Dad With New Tattoo

Paris Jackson has honored her late father by getting a tattoo of his Dangerous album cover.

The 18-year-old showed off her new ink on Instagram and wrote, "Never forget your roots, and always be proud of where you came from." The tat is on her forearm.

She also shared a quote from Michael's 1992 book Dancing the Dream: “The meaning of life is contained in every single expression of life. It is present in the infinity of forms and phenomena that exist in all of creation.”

This is Paris's second tattoo honoring the King of Pop. In April she had the words “Queen of My Heart” inked across her wrist in her dad’s handwriting.

Ozzy Osbourne: Mistress Inspired By Stalker Flick?

There are fresh allegations in the Ozzy Osbourne cheating scandal.

His mistress has a greater interest in Sharon Osbourne than Ozzy. A close family friend told the New York Post about the motives of Michelle Pugh. (quote) “She wants to be Sharon.”

Sounds as if Michelle was tragically inspired by the 1990s erotic thriller Single White Female.

Yesterday, Sharon Osbourne simply laughed off criticism that her daughter Kelly Osbourne tweeted Michelle’s private number. Kelly added the dig at Michelle that she’s your gal for “cheap chunky LOW-lights, a blow out, and a blowj**.”

The aftermath has been traumatizing for Ozzy, who’s been "ghosted." Michelle Pugh cannot go near him and Sharon won’t talk to him.

Dave Mirra: Suffered From CTE Before Suicide

An examination of Dave Mirra's brain has concluded that the BMX legend suffered from CTE, a neuro-degenerative brain disease brought on by repeated head injuries.

Mirra's family donated his brain following his death from a self-inflicted gunshot wound back in February. CTE has been linked to depression and dementia and is more commonly seen in pro football players. Mirra is the first-known extreme sports star to be diagnosed with it.

Carrie Underwood once again will star in the opening of NBC's Sunday Night Football.

This is the fourth year in a row she'll be "waiting all day for Sunday night." Faith Hill had the job before Carrie took over in 2013.

The Sunday Night Football crew posted a photo of Carrie about to belt out the theme song on Twitter.

If you need a refresher, here is last year's opener.

Little Big Town: New Album Coming Next Month

Little Big Town will release their sixth album, Wanderlust, on June 10th.

The group will sing the first song from the album, "One of Those Days," tonight (Tuesday) on the season finale of The Voice. The album, which was produced by Pharrell, grew out of a few writing sessions into a full-blown record. Karen Fairchild says, "Pharrell loves country music and is a huge fan of harmony. That shared passion and appreciation took us on a creative journey we had no idea would happen. The music feels like our worlds have collided in the best possible way."

Dierks Bentley: Beer With A Blackhawk

It's no secret that Dierks Bentley is a huge hockey fan. So imagine how excited he was to have Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith join him on stage to shotgun a beer during his show at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater in Tinley Park, Illinois this past weekend. The moment was documented on Instagram.

It's not the first time Duncan showed up at one of Dierks's shows -- he and some teammates caught him on tour last year and brought the Stanley Cup with them. They also gave him a number-7 Blackhawks jersey.

Lady A Will Host ACM Honors:

The D.A. Of The Day - Tuesday, May 24th

Burglar Hosed By Vaccum-Wielding Momma

An Oklahoma woman showed a burglar just how badly his career choice sucks -- by fighting him off with a vacuum cleaner!

Kenneth Williams didn't realize that Nicole Williamson was at home with her toddler daughter when he tried to break into her house last week, but it didn't take long before he found out he was hosed. The victim's daughter saw Williams throw his backpack through an open window and start to climb in, and yelled out for her mom. Williamson says, "I was thinking like...kill him. I got a crutch and I started slamming him in the face with it and he wouldn't get down, so I picked up a vacuum out of the hallway and started slamming him in the face with the vacuum."

Williams begged the woman to give back his backpack and let him leave, but she and some neighbors detained him until cops could arrive.

Nut Busted Over Squirrels:

A Michigan man earned one of the nuttier police blotter entries in recent memory when cops hauled him in on charges of possessing weed, a gun and...a box of squirrels.

Ian Breiholz had pulled over his pickup truck to sift through some garbage by the side of the road, leading a homeowner to lodge a 911 complaint. Officers who responded to the scene tracked the 31-year-old to the vehicle, where they found a bag of unlicensed medical marijuana and a gun, which Breiholz isn't allowed to own, due to his criminal record.

But the most surprising find was a box containing several baby squirrels, which the suspect says he rescued during a previous dumpster-diving expedition. Arresting officers said it appeared that Breiholz was nursing the animals back to health, and noted, "That was his good side coming out."

The squirrels were turned over to Animal Control, which said they'll be released into the wild soon. Breiholz was released on his own recognizance and will appear in court this month.

Woman Buys Drugs, Shows Video To Cops

If you've just taken a video of yourself buying drugs from a dealer, who is the last person you should show the video to? If you answered a police officer, you're correct. And you're also a lot smarter than this Florida woman.

27-year-old Kathleen Laroche was pulled over for speeding. When the officer approached her, she apologized for speeding and weaving, and informed him that she doesn't have a license because hers was suspended. She was placed under arrest for driving with a suspended license, but before putting her in the back of his cruiser, the officer noticed a camera installed on her dashboard and asked about the video quality. He then asked if he could watch the video, and she said yes. She apparently forgot that right before she was pulled over, she'd visited a drug dealer to purchase cocaine and the deal was captured on the dashcam.

In addition to the suspended license charge, Laroche is now also facing drug charges. The man who sold her the drugs was also arrested after the officer drove to the location seen in the video and found him there.

Bill Cosby: Will stand trial

Bill Cosby's accusers will get their day in court.

A Pennsylvania judge has ordered the 78-year-old comic to stand trial for sexual assault. His defense attorneys had argued that the prosecution case relies solely on hearsay, but the judge says there's enough evidence to go to trial.

The news comes on the heels of revelations that Cosby once admitted in a deposition to having sex with teenage girls.

Brad Pitt: Rescues Young Girl From Frenzied Crowd:

Have no fear, Brad Pitt is here.

The actor was greeting fans outside the Canary Islands set of his new World War Two film Allied when he spotted a young girl being crushed by the frenzied crowd. So he pointed her out to bodyguards and then helped them lift the girl over the fence and into his gentle, caring arms. He spent a few moments with her caressing her head and making sure she was alright before waving goodbye and going back to work. The sweet moment, which is likely to make the girl the envy of women all over the world, was captured on video.

Kelly Puts Ozzy's Hairstylist On Blast:

Kelly Osbourne defended her mother by tweeting the phone number of Ozzy Osbourne’s lover.

Kelly got snarky as she revealed the private contact for Michelle Pugh, (quote) “Anyone looking for cheap chunky LOW-lights, a blow out, and a blowj** call (323) 9282323.”

Kelly believes Ozzy is not to blame for cheating on Sharon Osbourne. Kelly accused Michelle of “elder abuse." Decades of a rock 'n' roll lifestyle have left 67-year-old Ozzy in a state of permanent bewilderment.
