TAYLOR SWIFT STALKER - WITH STRINGS ATTACHED
TMZ reports that the unidentified man was hoping to string Tay along long enough to have her check out some tunes he'd written, and claiming they'd worked together in the past. When her staff tried to shoo the guy away, he refused to leave -- until cops showed up, at which point he beat a hasty exit.
Late last month, police had to remove an intruder from another of Taylor's properties.
FIRST CHART-TOPPER – GRANGER SMITH
Granger Smith's single "Backroad Song" has taken the #1 spot on the Billboard, Mediabase and Music Row charts this week, giving Smith his first career chart-topper. Reacting to the exciting news, Granger said, "How do I put this into words? Having a #1 song has been a lifelong dream of mine and to achieve this as both a writer and a singer is surreal. It has been a long road, but such a great adventure and I have so many team members to thank for that. I'm feeling pretty blessed right now." "Backroad Song" is the lead single off Smith's forthcoming studio album, Remington, which will be released on March 4. The song was initially released to radio early last year, but was re-released in October via BBR's Wheelhouse Records.
Adding to the excitement, Granger has upcoming national TV appearances on NBC's Today Show on March 8, FOX News Channel's Fox & Friends on March 9 and ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live on March 22, where he'll perform on the outdoor stage.
GRAMMY DISS – BLAKE SHELTON AND LUKE BRYAN
When confronted by paparazzi ahead of last night's (2/15) Grammy Awards, Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan continued to take playful jabs at each other. It all started when TMZ approached Blake over the weekend as he was leaving the fancy Beverly Hills restaurant Mastro's. The paparazzi hounded Shelton with questions as he walked to his car, eventually asking him who he'd like to sit next to at the Grammys.
Blake responded to that question, saying, "Luke Bryan, but he never gets nominated." TMZ then caught up with Bryan, who was at the very same restaurant with his wife, Caroline, the next night on Valentine's Day (2/14). When the paparazzi asked Luke what he thought about Blake's Grammy diss towards him, he
responded saying, "Blake's a terrible person." The paparazzi then told Bryan that it seems like everyone in country music is friends and asked him if he thought that was true.
Luke then sarcastically replied, "Yeah, it seems like it." The videos of their run-ins with the paparazzi can be seen here.
But their jabs towards each other appear to just be in good fun. After the TMZ report, Shelton and Bryan both changed their respective Twitter profile pictures to photos of one another – something they've done several times in the past. Blake changed his Twitter profile picture to a shot of Luke wearing a tooth fairy outfit, and Bryan changed his profile picture to a shot of Shelton from his TMZ encounter.
A BIG WEEK AHEAD - DUSTIN LYNCH
Dustin Lynch is gearing up for a big week. Following a four-night run across the East Coast on his headlining "Hell of a Night Tour," Lynch will make a stop in New York City to appear on NBC's Late Night with Seth Meyers this Wednesday (2/17). Dustin is set to perform his current Top 20 single "Mind Reader" on the program, which will air at 12:35 AM ET. After making his debut on the late night program, Lynch will then head to Evansville, Indiana, the very next day (2/18) to help Luke Bryan kick off his "2016 Kill The Lights Tour" at the city's Ford Center. Dustin previously toured with Bryan on his "Kick The Dust Up Tour," and he is the only artist Luke has handpicked as an opener for a second time. The tour will also feature special guest Little Big Town. A second leg of the tour featuring LBT and Lynch will kick off in May and wrap up in October.
