Legendary University of Tennessee women’s basketball coach Pat Summitt has passed away at the age of 64.

Her son Tyler Summitt issued a statement early this morning saying, "It is with tremendous sadness that I announce the passing of my mother, Patricia Sue Head Summitt. She died peacefully this morning at Sherrill Hill Senior Living in Knoxville surrounded by those who loved her most." Summitt had been battling Alzheimer's for several years.

Summitt coached the Lady Vols for 38 years and her 1,098 wins makes her the winningest coach in all of NCAA Division-1 basketball. She also led Tennessee to eight national championships. She was named Coach of the Year seven times and inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2000.

WINONA RYDER: Defends Johnny Depp

Winona Ryder has come to Johnny Depp's defense.

The actress, who was engaged to the star in the '90s, tells Time magazine that he was never abusive toward her. This comes on the heels of Amber Heard accusing The Pirates of the Caribbean star of domestic violence. Winona says, "I can only speak from my own experience, which was wildly different than what is being said. I mean, he was never, never that way towards me. Never abusive at all towards me. I only know him as a really good, loving, caring guy who is very, very protective of the people that he loves."

She adds, "I’m not calling anyone a liar. I’m just saying, it’s difficult and upsetting for me to wrap my head around it. Look, it was a long time ago, but we were together for four years, and it was a big relationship for me. And we have a lot of mutual friends. I just never heard anything like that about him. But, again, I feel like even saying that, I’m going to get death threats or something. I’m not on social media, so maybe I will be spared."

Amber filed for divorce from Johnny last month after 15 months of marriage.

JAY LENO: Walks Away From Incredible Car Wreck

Jay Leno is fine and dandy after getting into a dramatic car wreck.

The comedian was shooting a wheelie stunt with 80-year-old driver Bob Riggle for his CNBC show Jay Leno's Garage. In the clip, Jay says, "2500 horsepower! That's right, 2500 horsepower on two wheels! What could go wrong?"

Quite a lot actually. When Bob made a turn, the car flipped several times. Fortunately the two men were able to walk away from the accident.

"Well, that was certainly exciting," Leno says as he gets out of the car.

MATT LeBLANC: Wants His Top Gear Co-Host Fired

Matt LeBlanc apparently isn't friends with his Top Gear co-host.

The actor has reportedly given the BBC an ultimatum -- either they fire Chris Evans or he walks. Britain's The Sun says the former Friends' star "has grown increasingly frustrated with his co-star’s rudeness and frosty attitude towards the team."

The second season of the revamped Top Gear is set to begin filming in September, but it could be postponed while producers make a decision. A source says, "The big question now is who goes and who stays." Matt seems to have an advantage, since he's been getting rave reviews on the motoring series.

Matt and Chris came on board after longtime host Jeremy Clarkson was fired last year.

NICOLAS CAGE: Back on the Market

Nicolas Cage quietly split from his wife Alice Kim five months ago.

Nic and Kim began dating in February 2004 when she waited his table at a Los Angeles restaurant. They got engaged two months later and were married that summer.

They have one son together, 10-year-old Kal-el Coppola Cage.

For the record, she's 32 and he's 52.

Nic was married to Patricia Arquette from 1995 to 2001, and to Lisa Marie Presley for four months in 2002.

KELLY McGILLIS: Assaulted at Home

Actress Kelly McGillis is nursing some scratches and bruises after she was attacked in her home in North Carolina.

The Top Gun star wrote in a Facebook post that she returned home last Friday night to find a strange woman inside her house. She wrote, "I asked her who she is and why she was in my house and she said, ‘You know why. You’ve been stalking me on Twitter.'" McGillis added that is not true.

McGillis says she ran outside to call police, but the woman -- who had a child with her -- followed her and tried to knock the phone out of her hand. She scratched and punched her face as McGillis screamed for help. Luckily, a passing driver called police, who were able to arrest the woman. She was identified as Laurence Marie Dorn and was charged with burglary, larceny, stalking and assault and battery. The child was placed in the custody of Social Services.
