THE HOTLIST - FRIDAY DECMEBER 11th

Willard Scott is hanging up his microphone.

The legendary Today show weatherman and birthday greeter will retire from NBC next Tuesday after a 65-year career in broadcasting.

The suburban DC native got his start as an NBC page in Washington in 1950. A year later, he got behind the mic at American University's campus station. He and classmate and lifelong pal Ed Walker formed a comic DJ duo that they later dubbed The Joy Boys. They took their act to commercial radio in 1955 and enjoyed a successful 17-year run. Walker, working solo, remained a fixture on DC stations until his death in October.

By the mid-'60s, Scott had branched out into hosting local TV kids shows -- and was the first announcer cast as Ronald McDonald. (Check out the video below)
As the '70s began, he became the comic weatherman on NBC's Washington station -- a job which led to his promotion to the network'sToday show in 1980. He retired from forecasting in the mid-'90s, but remained with the show, doing twice-weekly birthday shoutouts to viewers turning 100.

Breastfeeding has brought out the best in Kim Kardashian. The reality star was watching TV and feeding her newborn son when she was inspired to donate 1,000 pairs of shoes to a teen's charity drive.

Kim tweeted, "I'm up breastfeeding & watching this show Dish Nation. I heard the cutest story of a girl who is trying to find 1,000 pairs of shoes to donate to this charity Soles for Souls! They helped her during Hurricane Katrina."

According to Dish Nation, Kansas teen Amelia Flores was trying to collect 2,000 shoes. She already had 1,000 pairs, and Kim has now promised the other 1,000. We're sure she'll throw in a bunch of Yeezies.

Kristin Cavallari's brother Michael has been found dead. The 30-year-old went missing two weeks ago.

The former Hills star says, "We want to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers during this very difficult time. We have just been informed by the authorities my brother's body has been found. This is a very painful time and we are still processing it all."

Police in Utah had been searching for Michael since November 27th after his car was found abandoned on the highway. He'd been arrested just days before and held in county jail.

A source close to the family tells People magazine that the reality star's brother "was always a troubled kid and there was always drama with him." Still, Kristin was said to be very close with him. The source says, "She was always very protective of him."
