BLAKE SHELTON: THE STREAK CONTINUES
Blake Shelton's single "Gonna" has reached the top of the chart this week, extending his streak of consecutive #1 hits to 16. The song also gives Blake his 21st #1 single of his career and his third this year, following "Lonely Tonight," the Grammy-nominated duet with Ashley Monroe, and his Gold-certified hit "Sangria." Reacting to the news of his latest chart-topper, Shelton said, "I have to say thank you to the fans. This has been an incredible journey and I am so grateful." "Gonna" hits the top of the chart as Blake takes two contestants into the final week on Season 9 of NBC's The Voice. The singing competition's season finale will air tonight (12/15) at 9:00 PM ET. Looking ahead to the New Year, Shelton is set to launch his 2016 Winter Tour Presented by Gildan on February 18 in Cincinnati, Ohio. The tour will feature label mate Chris Janson opening and will include two nights at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena in March.
COLE SWINDELL: NEW VIDEO HITS YOU IN THE FEELS.
The touching video for Cole Swindell's new single "You Should Be Here" debuted this week. Shot in the Swindell's hometown of Glennville, Georgia, the video follows him to cemetery where his father is buried, documenting first time he's has been back there since his dad passed away.
The video opens with a conversation with his dad about signing a record deal with Warner Music Nashville, and then flashes through some of Swindell's biggest career milestones, including his Grand Ole Opry debut and winning the 2015 ACM New Artist of the Year.
Swindell says, "This is the song I came to Nashville to write. It's not like anything I've written before. I'm extremely proud this is the first single from my next album. I think anyone can relate to this song for so many different reasons because we've all had moments that we wished someone special could have shared with us." "You Should Be Here," the first single off Cole's sophomore studio album, goes for radio adds in January. Check out the video below.
Carrie Underwood has added more international dates to her upcoming "The Storyteller Tour." The tour has been expanded to include two additional concerts during Europe's biggest country music festival, Country to Country (C2C), playing both Stockholm, Sweden, and Oslo, Norway, next March. Carrie is already headlining C2C shows in Glasgow, Scotland; London, England; and Dublin, Ireland. The North American leg of Underwood's 2016 tour will kick off in Jacksonville, Florida, on January 30, making stops at 40 arenas across the U.S. and Canada through May. "The Storyteller Tour" is in support of Carrie's now Gold-certified chart-topping album, Storyteller. The album made a historic debut in October when it helped Underwood become the only artist in the chart's 51-year history to have each of her first six albums to enter the chart at #1. The North American leg of Carrie's tour will also feature special guests Easton Corbin and The Swon Brothers.
