The DA Of The Day - Tuesday March 15th

MARCH SHOWERS BRING APRIL JAIL TIME

A Florida man is in hot water after being hauled off to jail for drunkenly breaking into the house of a complete stranger -- to take a shower.

Cops were dispatched to a home in Spring Hill after a panicked teenage girl called 911 to report that she heard banging on the walls of a bathroom in her home, when she was supposed to be the only person there. When officers arrived, they found Joshua Lee Noble sitting in the tub naked, with the shower turned on full blast.

After simply yelling "babe" a few times, he told the deputies he lived there and explained his bloodshot eyes and slurred speech by saying he'd had one drink at a bar with his wife, but got separated from her on the way home. Noble couldn't explain how he'd gotten got into the home and said he didn't know how he got there.
He was charged with one count of trespassing.

TAYLOR SWIFT'S HUSBAND ARRESTED

A Tennessee man was arrested after he forced his way into a home and claimed he was trying to find Taylor Swift, whom he said was his wife.

Police say 26-year-old Paul Herrin opened the front door to the house and was confronted by the homeowner, who thought he was a tenant coming by to pay his rent. But Herrin forced his way inside and demanded to see his wife, Taylor Swift. According to the homeowner, Herrin said he was there to "save Taylor Swift, his wife, and that he had every right to search the residence."

Cops arrived, and after an investigation that took about one second, determined that Herrin is not married to Taylor Swift and arrested him for aggravated burglary.

THE GIRL ON THIS BUS GOES CHOMP, CHOMP, CHOMP

An 18-year-old high school student in North Carolina has been arrested for assault after she channeled her inner Mike Tyson and chewed off another student's ear.

Amber Romero got into a fight with a 16-year-old student on the school bus after the younger girl threw a lunch bag at her. The two slapped each other and pulled each other's hair, and then Romero chomped down on the other girl's ear and bit off her earlobe.

Romero, who has a prior assault conviction, was charged with felony assault and locked up on $15,000 bail.

THE BACHELOR: BEN CHOOSES LAUREN

Ben Higgins proposed to Lauren Bushnell and she said yes. JoJo Fletcher was named the next Bachelorette.

  • On Ben's final date with Lauren, he told her that he feels like things are too good to be true and that it's been keeping him up at night.

  • On the final day, Ben told JoJo that he loves Lauren more than her, but he still loves her, too.

LAPD: REJECTS TMZ DNA STORY -

Not so fast, TMZ. The LAPD disputes the gossip site's story saying that no DNA has been found on that rusty knife found on OJ Simpson's old property.

TMZ reported overnight that testing has been negative because the amount of time elapsed, particularly while the knife was buried, degraded any identifiable DNA. That report is in keeping with rumors that have been going around since the knife turned up earlier this month.

However, police say that they're still conducting tests and that a final report is a week or so away. Nonetheless, TMZ is sticking to its guns.

I AIN'T AFRAID OF NO GHOSTS – CARRIE UNDERWOOD

Carrie Underwood celebrated her 33rd birthday on Thursday (3/10) by taking a ghost tour of Scotland. Carrie was in Europe to take part in the Country to Country Festival in the U.K. and Ireland, but she set some time aside to do a little "ghost hunting" -- sharing the pictures of her birthday adventure on Instagram. Carrie first posted a picture of her wearing a black t-shirt with words "I ain't afraid of no ghosts" printed on it. Another picture shows the singer wearing a headlamp and special goggles as she poses next to a smiling bedsheet ghost. Carrie then posted a picture of her standing in a field at night with the headlamp's light casting a halo around her. The caption for her photo said, "Awesome pic from our ghost adventures last night...That sky looks creepy! What an amazing birthday!"

SHOP DRINK, SHOP DRINK – MIRANDA LAMBERT

Before Miranda Lambert wrapped up her string of shows in the U.K. and Ireland over the weekend as part of the Country to Country Festival, she also had time to take in some of the local sights. In an interview with BBC Radio 2, Miranda said she did a little shopping while she was in the U.K., which actually turned into a bit of a pub crawl. Lambert said, "We did like the shop drink, shop drink thing, and then we just drank." But Lambert knows that drinking while shopping can sometimes have its consequences. Miranda said, "Sometimes you get home and you're like, 'What are all these bags?'" She then added, "Especially if you go with Ashley Monroe, 'cause I get to share all of these experiences with my best friend." The two just have to stay out of trouble while they're there. Lambert said, "One of our fans tweeted us: 'Why does Ashley and Miranda going to the U.K. together make me chuckle?'…I'm like ''cause it should.'"

And when asked if she'd be partaking in any of the U.K.'s famous fish and chips and doughnuts while she was there, Miranda admitted she was trying to watch her figure for the upcoming ACM Awards next month. Lambert joked, "I'll be like, 'I'm sorry none of my ACM clothes fit; I had fish and chips and doughnuts the whole time I was in the U.K.'"

PREPARING FOR BATTLE – BLAKE SHELTON

A video has been released that gives a sneak peek into how Gwen Stefani has helped Blake Shelton's team members prepare for the upcoming elimination battles on NBC's The Voice. The video starts with a playful exchange between Blake and his girlfriend, but then the two get down to business. The video shows Blake and Gwen listening to some of Shelton's team members perform, with the each of them giving pointers on how the artists can improve before the elimination rounds. And Shelton feels like he's made the right choice in picking Stefani as his advisor. He said, "I brought Gwen in because if there's anybody who understands what a battle round is it's somebody who's been a coach." Blake also recognizes that Gwen brings something new to his team, which he thinks can actually help his artists succeed. He said, "I've learned from seasons past that Gwen brings a different perspective to this thing than I do as a coach." The video can be seen hereThe Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 7PM  on NBC.

THESE CRIMINALS FOLLOWED HANSEL AND GRETAL METHOD
Matthew Sapetko.Timothy Walker Jr..jpg   James Marullo

Just like Hansel and Gretal, these criminals left a trail and they were caught

Three men broke into the Build-A-Burger Restaurant and stole a cash register, the surveillance system and a large bowl of macaroni salad.

They should have covered the salad. In fact, they should have covered a lot of things. Police found cash register parts, surveillance system parts, rubber gloves, loose change and the macaroni salad, which led them straight to the burglars.

Matthew P. Sapetko, 34, of Mt. Morris; James P. Marullo, 35, of Mt. Morris, and Timothy S. Walker Jr., 23, from Idaho, were charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief and fourth-degree grand larceny. Walker also faces charges for criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument.

They were arraigned and committed to Livingston County Jail, according to police.

Walker's and Sapetko's bail were set at $7,500 cash and $15,000 bond, respectively. Marullo is being held on no bail, due to prior felony convictions.

TWINS FROM ANOTHER FATHER:

A set of twins in Vietnam recently found out that they're actually half-siblings.
A DNA test has confirmed that the twins, who are now two years old, have different fathers. According to the Genetic Association of Vietnam, this extremely rare occurrence happened because two separate eggs were fertilized by two separate fathers during the mother's ovulation period.
One of the fathers asked for a DNA test because the children don't look anything alike and he was suspicious. Scientists say the term used for the kids is bi-fraternal.

YOU CAN'T PARK THERE!!

A supermarket in Pittsburgh has everything a shopper needs, from fresh produce -- to an SUV on the roof.

Shoppers inside a Giant Eagle store heard a loud bang and were told to evacuate after someone managed to drive an SUV onto the roof. It sounds like the work of a movie stuntman, but this was just the work of a really bad driver. Police say the 41-year-old was speeding when he lost control of his Kia Sorrento, slammed into a fence and brick wall, and then went airborne. It's probably lucky for him he landed on the roof.

The driver was uninjured, but the store had to be evacuated because the vehicle was leaking gasoline and it was seeping through the roof. There's no word yet if the driver will face charges.

DON HENLEY ANNOUNCED END TO EAGLES TOURING

Don Henley told the BBC that the Eagles have done their final tour and he doesn’t think they will perform together again.

Henley said that the final tribute the group did, together with Jackson Browne, was when they were on the GRAMMY awards earlier this year. He says he doesn’t think they will ever perform again.

Eagle member Glenn Frey passed away earlier this year, and they had already cancelled dates prior to his death to let him get over an illness that was plaguing him.

This is the forty-year anniversary of “Hotel California,” the multi-platinum released in 1976. They had been in discussion of a tour were the band would sing the album in its entirety prior to Fry’s death.

Henley continues to promote his new album, “Cass County,” which has a country/folk direction to it. He says that he is already working on a new album that will have a totally different direction – a combination of rhythm and blues and soul.

KELLOGG'S HAS LAUNCHED A CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION:

Last week a video surfaced that showed a man urinating on an assembly line at a Kellogg's factory in Memphis. The company has responded with "We are shocked and deeply disappointed by this video that we just learned of yesterday". The company has since launched a criminal investigation to locate the person responsible. Since the video was filmed in 2014 the affected products (which include Rice Krispies treats, granola clusters and puffed rice)would have already past their expiration date so it's likely all have been eaten or discarded by now.

TWANG TOWN LOWDDOWN - FRIDAY MARCH 11th

NASHVILLE HOT PURSUIT – RANDY HOUSER

What appeared to be the police in hot pursuit of a black Pontiac Tran Am through the streets of Nashville yesterday afternoon (3/10) actually turned out to be a video shoot for Randy Houser. The classic muscle car was spotted at various locations around the city -- including downtown and Music Row -- with several police cars following close behind. Metro Nashville Police participated in the fun video shoot that featured Houser recreating the chase from his "We Went" music video. The video was also for a good cause as it resulted in a donation to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. The video can be seen here. The chase hit the streets of Music City just as Randy is set to drop his brand-new album, Fired Up, today (3/11).

The new police chase clip mimics the outlaw theme from Randy's official "We Went" music video, which was released in August. In the theatrical video for the song, Randy and his love interest play the roles of the "Good Deed Bandits" who blow up a drug baron's operation and make off with the cash in their black 1967 Pontiac Firebird, giving the money to less fortunate people. That video can be seen here.

GARTH BROOKS IS DELAYING HIS ALBUM RELEASE

Garth Brooks took to Facebook yesterday (3/10) to let fans know he's postponing the release of his forthcoming studio album. In the lengthy message, Garth first thanked fans for all of the support they've given him on his return world tour with Trisha Yearwood and then asked for their patience as he takes time to get back in the habit of writing songs.  Brooks said, "I made the statement that when we came back on the road and into the studio, I was not confident in my own writing…it is a muscle and if you don’t use it, you just can’t turn it back on again…it takes time…but I DID hear you." He then continued, "Because of that, teamed with the touring schedule, I am asking a huge favor from you, I am postponing the release of the new studio record…I ask for your patience as I explore the writing again."

Garth said that for the last four months he's really loved the challenge of exploring writing again, saying he's actually enjoyed his time in the studio even more because of it. He also ensured fans that his new music will be just as genuine as it's always been. He said, "This new album will be the most Garth thing I have ever done… whether that is a good thing or a bad thing, you will decide." Brooks then wrote in length about how he wants to keep fans up-to-date on the progress of his new music, promising to show everyone what goes on behind the scenes during every step of making the record. Garth said he would use the Facebook LIVE streaming video channel to "pull back the curtain on this process in a very cool and personal way." Brooks also said in the message that he hopes to release his new record sometime this summer. His full Facebook message can be seen here.

HOSPITAL DEDICATES FOUNTAIN TO BLAKE SHELTON'S DAD

St. Anthony Hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma, has dedicated a fountain in its new wing to Blake Shelton's late father Richard Lee Shelton. Blake took to Twitter on Wednesday night (3/9) to say he was "so proud and thankful to Dr. Haddad and St. Anthony hospital" for the special dedication to his father. Along with expressing his gratitude for the dedication, Shelton also posted a picture of the new bubble wall fountain that was illuminated in blue light. Bubble wall fountains usually feature air bubbles released through a column of water, with the bubbles being illuminated in different colors as they rise to the top. Blake's father passed away in early 2012 after being hospitalized with pneumonia.

THE D.A. OF THE DAY - FRIDAY MARCH 11

HERE'S ONE UBER GOOBER:

A Virginia woman ended up in handcuffs after trying to shoplift, then trying to get a lift -- from an Uber car she summoned to the Wal-Mart she'd just tried to rip off.

Eboni Jones tossed a bunch of items into a shopping cart and tried to leave of the super-store without paying, but was caught by a security guard who pursued her out the door. Jones ran into a building next door and emerged wearing an entirely different outfit, a disguise attempt that didn't work very well.

The store guard called cops and informed them that she'd seen Jones enter an Uber car, which the officers pulled over just a few blocks away. She was charged with petty larceny and providing false information -- a charge that was added when she told the cops she'd never been in the store.

NOW THAT'S A DRUG BUST

A Colombian woman gave a whole new meaning to the term "drug bust" when she was arrested trying to smuggle more than two pounds of cocaine into Germany -- in her breast implants!

The 24-year-old, whose name was not released, attracted the attention of customs officials who noticed the fresh surgical scars on her chest and heard her muttering about being in pain. She became nervous during questioning and finally admitted the contraband, which was removed at a nearby hospital following her arrest.
Officials seized the drugs, valued at about $300,000, and held the woman on smuggling charges.

FARE-LY RIDICULOUS:

A Colorado woman had a "hail" of a lot of trouble getting away from cops after she carjacked a taxi -- and then drove off to the location she'd given the cabbie when she got into his vehicle.
The pea-brained passenger flagged down the taxi and asked to be taken to an address a few miles away, but when the driver pulled up to the corner, she pulled out a knife and gave him the boot. She drove off, but ditched the cab when she got wind of a police pursuit -- which ended at the home address she'd given the cabbie in the first place.
It took nearly 20 minutes for officers to subdue the woman, who was taken into jail on charges of grand theft auto and resisting arrest.
