Today's IDIOT - Tuesday, December 1st

A North Carolina woman who allegedly duct-taped the mouth of her dog shut last week, and then posted photos of the dirty deed on Facebook, has been charged with animal cruelty, police said.
Despite the alleged crime, authorities in Cary, North Carolina said that 45-year-old Katherine Lemansky won't have to give up the dog, a chocolate lab-mix named Brown.

Authorities initially had a hard time finding Lemansky, who was linked to an address in Florida, but wasn't living there, nor in her native Connecticut. They finally found her and the dogs in North Carolina.

Cary Police Captain Randall Rhyne said in a statement, "Taping a dog's muzzle shut was a terrible decision on Ms. Lemansky's part. At the same time, it's important to also note that our animal control officers who physically examined both Brown and her litter mate found the dogs to be very well cared for, which is why we did not and could not remove them from the owner.

A Florida man got himself locked up after he forgot the key to a successful robbery -- and locked himself in the joint he was burglarizing!

Kenneth Rogers broke into the house and ransacked the kitchen and bathroom, but ended up locking himself into a small room. When cops arrived on the scene, they found the 45-year-old, armed with a kitchen knife, getting ready to take a shower.

Rogers had taken a number of items from a medicine cabinet and damaged a porch roof in his effort to escape the home, according to deputies who took him into custody.

A Virginia crook must have had a feeling of deja vu when he ended up in the emergency room after cops fished him out of a river -- which he jumped into after stealing a purse from the same E.R.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, snatched the bag from Norfolk Sentara General Hospital, and was confronted at the door by a cop. He outran the officer and jumped into a Jimmy John's delivery vehicle, which he used to flee the scene before crashing and running away, shedding his clothes as he went, then jumping into the Elizabeth River.

The man eventually made it to shore, where deputies were waiting to return him to the hospital for observation.
