The D.A. Of The Day - Thursday, Jan 14th

SHE MADE A LITTLE MCMISTAKE

A British woman is eating crow after she tried to do a good deed by buying a fast food breakfast for a homeless man -- only to find that the guy was just a badly-dressed dude who didn't need a handout at all.

Claire Varin saw the man, whose name was not released, sitting at a booth looking "disheveled and hungry," and when she saw him open a ketchup packet and eat a squiggle of the condiment, she decided to buy him a meal. But as soon as she walked over with the tray, an employee came over with the man's order, and she says, "He just looked confused. I was mortified. I felt like I was going to die of embarrassment."

Claire says she bolted without placing her own order, adding "My husband keeps laughing at me. He says he's going to follow me around from now on to make sure I don't buy strangers food."

MAKING A MURDERER: HALF- BROTHER OF BRENDAN DASSEY RELEASES MURDER RAP.

One of the relatives of Making A Murderer star and accused murderer Brendan Dassey is hoping to help his brother beat the murder rap with a murder rap of his own -- literally.

While Brendan sits behind bars serving a life sentence, Brad is spitting bars of his own. The song, called "They Didn't Do It," proclaims the innocence of Dassey and Steven Avery

Jabs include lines like, "Not a fair trial, not a fair game. Whole thing's wack, just a lying shame."

Brad says he put 10 hours of his blood, sweat and tears into the track and that he hopes to play the song next time he visits his brother at the Green Bay Correctional Facility.

WONDER WHAT THE RETURN POLICY IS ON THIS?

Don't you just hate it when somebody gets your order wrong? Like you asked for no mayo and got a sandwich slathered in it. Or you said fries and got a baked potato. Or how about ordering a Kindle online and mistakenly being delivered a box with a tumor inside?

James Potten of England received a FedEx package that he assumed was the Kindle e-book reader he had ordered. But when he opened the box he immediately realized that his Kindle probably wasn't inside. The enclosed box was wrapped in a paper seal which read, "Specimen return kit -- Patient tumor specimen enclosed."

Potten saw that the package was sent from an address in California and was intended for London’s Royal Free Hospital. He tried several times to get FedEx to come pick up the package, but couldn't get them to come. He says, "I've been trying to get FedEx to collect it as it is potentially a sample that needs to be tested and sent back with some urgency. I don't know where my Kindle is, but if it is at the Royal Free I'd be happy to do an exchange."

Eventually, the tumor specimen made its way to the hospital, and the next day, Potten received his Kindle.

WELL HEY... NO MORE BEDBUGS..

A Detroit man successfully took care of a nagging bedbug problem, and simultaneously, proved he's one of the dumbest people on the planet.

The unidentified 30-year-old sprayed rubbing alcohol on his couch and his body to combat the annoying little critters. He then sat down and lit a cigarette, which he used to try to burn one of the insects. But of course, the alcohol-soaked couch caught fire and so did his alcohol-soaked body.

The fire then quickly spread to the rest of his eighth-floor apartment. He was able to escape the inferno, but suffered severe burns. Four other apartments were damaged in the fire and a dozen more suffered water damage.
