D.A. OF THE DAY - THURSDAY, APRIL 7TH

NO CLOTHES, ONE DOG, BIG PROBLEM

Imagine the surprise for residents of a quiet neighborhood in Florida when they looked out their window and saw a naked man calmly walking his dog down the sidewalk.

Police got a series of calls about the naked man, and when they arrived on the street where he was walking, they found out the calls had all been true. They found the young man with no clothes on just walking his dog as if nothing were wrong.

When police approached him and asked where his clothes were, Robin Campbell replied, “This is God’s house.” The police knew they had a problem on their hands. They asked if the man had been drinking, to which he replied, “You have had some alcohol.” He finally told the police he had eaten mushrooms, and then he made the mistake of threatening to kill them if they didn’t get out of his way. All of a sudden, the man had a problem.

After trying to arrest him and having him resist, one of the policemen shot him with a Taser gun, but it only stunned him briefly.  A second shot with the gun didn’t stop him either. After finally getting him in handcuffs, Campbell continued to fight, ending up scratching an officer and kicking another one. The third shot from the Taser finally knocked him out so they were able to take him to a hospital for evaluation.

He was booked on two counts of battery of a law enforcement office, resisting arrest and exposure of sexual organs.

NO BATTERIES, NO BRAINS EITHER...

A Florida man neglected to get his brain in gear before approaching a uniformed deputy to ask for help getting a truck in gear -- even though he'd stolen the vehicle just a couple of days earlier.

Officers were dispatched to check out an alarm at a business around four in the morning one day last week, and found Gordon Raymond in the parking lot, along with the Chevy pickup. Raymond told the officer that he'd been trying to start the vehicle, but couldn't, and asked for a jump-start -- but the cop had already run the plates through the system and found that the truck was stolen.
Raymond initially insisted he'd bought the truck on Craigslist, but eventually admitted he'd stolen it after his girlfriend abandoned him at a bar at closing time. According to the police report, “Mr. Raymond stated that at the time taking the truck seemed like his best option and that he had no other way to get home."

BAD DAD CHOOSES LAP DANCE OVER DAUGHTER:

A California dad has to do a better job of getting his priorities in order.
24-year-old Auwin Dargin of Van Nuys was arrested for child abuse after he left his infant daughter inside his car so that he could run into a strip club for a quick lap dance.

Employees at the club noticed him stepping outside every 15 minutes and then returning. They thought it was odd and decided to check out what he was up to. It turns out he was going outside to check on his baby, who was crying inside the hot car.

The employees were able to unlock the car and take the baby out of her car seat. The club's manager then went back inside to find Dargin and found him in the middle of a lap dance. Dargin reportedly told the manager, "Just give me my baby and I know I am messing up." But they refused to hand over the child and called police.
Dargin could face up to six years in jail if convicted.
