D.A. OF THE DAY - WEDNESDAY, JUNE 1ST

WOOF WOOF, NOT BOOM BOOM:

Stoned Man Claims to Be Shot in Butt -- Bitten by Dog, Say Police

A Texas man smoking pot at home got so stoned that he freaked out and thought he had been shot in the rear end.

Police in a small town outside of Waco received a call from a man in a mobile home saying he had been shot. Officers sent to investigate determined that what the man thought was a gunshot was actually a dog bite in the butt. It's believed that the man's pet was spooked by thunder and took a chunk out of the owner. The man was treated at the scene and released.

THIS IS NOT HOW YOU GET A HEAD IN LIFE:

You can't fix stupid. You can't wash it, either. A Chinese man trying to fix his washing machine made the mistake of sticking his head inside to get a better look at the drum -- and got stuck.

Friends tried to lube him up and pull his head free, but that didn't work. It took six firemen 40 minutes to saw through the machine to finally free him. He suffered only minor cuts but the washing machine is irreparable.

SPEEDSTER USES COMMON CENTS:

A Texas man, angry that he was given a speeding ticket for driving 39 mph in a 30 mph zone, protested the ticket by paying the fine in pennies.

Brett Sanders fought the $212 ticket in court and lost. When it came time to pay up, he walked into the municipal courthouse with buckets of pennies and dumped them all over the clerk's desk. He explained, "I didn't hurt anybody. I didn't endanger anybody's life. When my fine came due, I just decided I may as well pay with pennies and we'll make a big spectacle of it."

The hilarious moment was captured on video and uploaded to YouTube. The office staff had to spend three hours picking up the pennies and counting them. In the end, Sanders actually overpaid by more than 700 cents, which he didn't want back.
