D.A. OF THE DAY - TUESDAY JUNE 7TH

MONKEY SOUGHT IN JEWELRY STORE HEIST:

The search is on in India for a monkey with sticky fingers who got away with cash from a jewelry store.

A surveillance camera captured the moment a little primate opened the door and walked into the shop. It then headed straight for the checkout counter, made sure no one was looking and opened up a drawer of cash. He swiped a stack of bills -- about $144-worth -- and ran out of the store with the shop owner in pursuit.

Workers say this was the second time the monkey showed up at the store, but the first time around, it didn't go inside. He was likely just casing the joint and planning his heist.

COLLARED GREENS:

Police in Florida made a very healthy arrest over the weekend when a man was caught stealing kale and other salad items from a Walmart store.

Cops say 33-year-old Shane Stahl was collared as he tried to walk out of the store with a shopping cart full of veggies he had not paid for. The health-conscious crook had kale, croutons and other items to make a salad. He's been charged with theft, but on the bright side, he's healthy and gets a lot of vitamins A, C and K.

HORNY DEVIL:

We're often taught not to judge a book by its cover, but when this "book" eventually walks into a courtroom to face assault charges, it's going to be very hard for the judge to see anything but the cover.

Juan Vargas Rodriguez is a 53-year-old Arizona man with horns in his head. He allegedly slashed his wife with a knife after accusing her of cheating on him. Fortunately his adult daughter was able to separate him from his wife before he could cause more severe injuries. Rodriguez says he doesn't remember the attack because he "kind of blacked out with rage." He was arrested and booked for aggravated assault, which is when this frightening mugshot was taken showing off the subdermal horn implants in his head.
